From 7:30 am on September 14, on the road leading to the house of Lieutenant Colonel Tran Van Tung (born in 1987, Battalion Commander of Battalion 3, Infantry Regiment 568, Hung Yen Provincial Military Command), the atmosphere at the funeral was covered with pain and mourning eyes. In the rain, groups of people quietly lined up to pay respects to Lieutenant Colonel Tran Van Tung.
People present at the funeral shared that Mr. Tung's passing was a great loss, leaving grief for neighbors. "Mr. Tung's actions are very respectable. When others were in danger, he did not think about himself but rushed down to save people. That image will be remembered forever," people said.

Previously, on September 12, Lieutenant Colonel Tran Van Tung forgot himself and jumped into the Tra Ly River to rescue the person who jumped off the bridge. By the evening of September 13, Lieutenant Colonel Tran Van Tung's body and the person who jumped off the bridge were found.

Lieutenant Colonel Tran Van Tung passed away when the newly built house was still messy, leaving behind a young wife and two young children. Ahead of the wife is a family burden, and the two children have to face the absence of a father when they are still too young.
More heartbreakingly, in his shirt pocket when he had the accident, there was still an envelope of the unit's new school year bonus for his eldest daughter who is in 2nd grade.
On September 14, the Minister of National Defense signed a decision to posthumously promote officer rank to Lieutenant Colonel for Major Tran Van Tung, belonging to Military Region 3.
