On April 29, Mr. Lo Van Thai - Chairman of the People's Committee of Chieu Luu commune (Nghe An) - said that at about 5 pm on April 28, a tornado with heavy rain occurred in the area, causing more than 40 households in 6 villages to have their roofs blown off, and many properties damaged.
The heaviest damage is in La Ngan village with 22 households; Khe Tang village has 8 households; Pat Phoong, Luu Thang and Cu villages each have 3 households; Xieng Thu village has 1 affected household.
At the same time, in Keng Du commune, heavy rain accompanied by tornadoes blew off the corrugated iron roof of the teacher dormitory of Keng Du Kindergarten with an area of about 36m2. The headquarters of the Commune People's Committee also had about 15m2 of the office cum office roof blown off, and many belongings of officials and civil servants were damaged.

In Muong Xen commune, tornadoes occurred in Binh Son 1 and Nhan Ly villages, causing damage to 5 households, including the families of Mr. Cut Van Tam, Cut Van Hien, Lu Van Xet, Moong Van Giap and Vy Van Hang. Strong gusts of wind blew off the roofs of many houses and auxiliary works.
Meanwhile, in Na Ngoi commune, heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms occurred on the night of the 28th and early morning of April 29th, causing about 20 households to be affected, mainly having their roofs blown off and property damaged. Total estimated damage is more than 300 million VND. Fortunately, there were no casualties.
Immediately after the natural disaster occurred, local authorities mobilized police, militia, and mass organizations to support people to clean up and repair houses, and soon stabilize their lives. Na Ngoi Border Guard Station also sent 15 officers and soldiers to coordinate to help people overcome the consequences.
