On April 22, Vice Chairman of Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee Phan Trung Ba just signed a document directing localities to urgently overcome the consequences of heavy rain accompanied by widespread thunderstorms.
According to a quick report from the Department of Agriculture and Environment, from about 5 pm to 5:20 pm on April 22, moderate rain appeared in the province, with heavy rain in some places accompanied by thunderstorms, tornadoes, strong gusts of wind and localized hail in communes and wards such as Sin Cheng, Y Ty, Lung Phinh, Ngu Chi Son, Sa Pa, Den Sang, Coc San, Ta Cu Ty, Pha Long, Bao Nhai, Bac Ha, Ta Phin.
Natural disasters have caused damage to houses, agricultural production, and some traffic infrastructure and schools.
To soon stabilize the situation, the People's Committees of affected communes and wards need to urgently go to the scene to inspect, review and fully statistically determine the damage.
At the same time, mobilize maximum local forces to support people, especially households with roofs blown off or damaged; organize the restoration of agricultural production and arrange temporary accommodation for people and teachers during the recovery period.

Localities are also required to promptly implement support policies according to regulations, ensuring the right beneficiaries, helping people soon stabilize their lives.
Along with that, urgently repair traffic works and official residences that are affected so that teachers can feel secure in their work.
The Department of Agriculture and Environment and the Office of the Lao Cai Provincial Civil Defense Command were assigned to quickly be present at the scene, coordinate with local authorities to support overcoming the consequences, and at the same time summarize the damage, report to the Provincial People's Committee to promptly direct the next solutions.
