On August 26, the People's Committee of Bau Ham commune, Dong Nai city, said that it had paid a support amount of more than 1 billion VND to 98 households affected by banana damage due to storms and floods on June 23, 2026 in the commune.
Previously, at 1:30 pm on June 23, heavy rain accompanied by tornadoes occurred in Bau Ham commune, causing some households to suffer damage to houses and crops, including an area of about 80ha of banana plants damaged.
Immediately after the natural disaster occurred, Bau Ham Commune People's Committee and the Commune Civil Defense Command promptly directed forces to coordinate with the Hamlet Board and households to participate in overcoming, cleaning up houses, and cutting down fallen trees onto the road to ensure traffic safety.
Regarding damage to crops such as banana trees, Bau Ham Commune People's Committee has directed the Economic Department to notify relevant agencies, hamlets, and households affected by crop damage to review, inspect, and make a list to provide support according to current regulations to help affected people soon stabilize their lives.
