On January 31, Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee just decided to establish a working group to implement the project to extend the Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien Metro line to the provincial administrative center and Long Thanh airport.

The investment project to build and extend the Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien Metro line to the Provincial Administrative Center and Long Thanh International Airport (Long Thanh airport) has a basic route direction following the plan, starting from S0 station in Tan Van, the route follows the planned route, crossing the Dong Nai River and going along National Highway 1, connecting to SC station of the new administrative center. Then, the route follows the planning corridor of the Bien Hoa - Long Thanh railway line, along DT.771, cutting through the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh expressway, connecting to SA station and then according to the planning corridor for railway lines entering Long Thanh airport.
The total length of the route is about 41.4 km, including 3 main sections:
Section 1, from station S0 to administrative center station (SC), length about 6.1 km; Section 2, from administrative center station (SC) to SA station (to Thu Thiem - Long Thanh railway line), length about 28.2 km; Section 3, (section to the airport) length about 7.1 km (new line and parallel to Thu Thiem - Long Thanh metro line, North - South high-speed railway).
The maximum design speed is 120 km/h (90 km/h in the tunnel) and the maximum operating speed is 110 km/h (80 km/h in the tunnel).
Using scattered dynamic trains (EMU); 1,435 mm gauge (double track); radio-based train operation control signal system (CBTC), allowing level 4 automation (GoA4); one-way power supply of 1500V DC (aerial power supply) or 750V DC (third railway power supply).
Preliminary total investment is about 60,261.8 billion VND (of which compensation and resettlement support costs are about 4,323.2 billion VND).
Implementation time from 2025-2029.
