On May 7, information from the People's Committee of Dong Nai province, agreed with Ho Chi Minh City to assign the Department of Construction of the two localities to re-study the implementation plan of the Cat Lai ferry replacement bridge project (Cat Lai bridge) in the direction of dividing the project into components.
Dong Nai province has proposed a plan to divide it into 4 component projects.
Of which, Component Project 1 of site clearance on the Ho Chi Minh City side (costs of more than VND 3,600 billion) was implemented by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee; Component Project 2 of site clearance on the Dong Nai province side (costs of nearly VND 3,000 billion), implemented by the Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee.
Component project 3 invests in the construction of Cat Lai ferry replacement bridge with a budget of more than VND9,000 billion implemented under the BOT form with the participation of budget capital (BOT capital 51%, budget capital 49%).
Component project 4 invests in the construction of a road connecting from the Cat Lai bridge toll station (about km 6+300) to the end of the route on the Dong Nai side with a budget of nearly VND3,800 billion implemented by Dong Nai province.
The Cat Lai Bridge project has a total length of more than 11km of road and bridge, of which Cat Lai Bridge is more than 3km long. The project has a starting point on Nguyen Thi Dinh Street, about 400m from My Thuy intersection; the end point connects to Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway at km 33+500.
