The number of African swine fever outbreaks in Dong Nai increased by 9 outbreaks compared to the same period in 2024.
In the first half of July 2025 alone, Dong Nai province experienced 3 outbreaks of African swine fever. In addition, there are 4 pig farming households with diseases with symptoms of African swine fever, the authorities have taken samples for testing.
According to the Dong Nai Department of Animal Husbandry and Fisheries, in recent times, the relevant agencies have increased disease supervision at livestock facilities, thereby promptly detecting, disinfecting, and isolating African swine fever outbreaks; destroying all sick pigs.
The province has implemented a month of environmental sanitation, disinfection, and poisoning at public places, markets, and livestock households, and at the same time, conducted spraying of disinfection on means of transportation and animal products in and out of the province.

Dong Nai province has a total of about 4.17 million pigs, farm livestock accounts for about 92% of the total herd with about 2,000 farms.
The output of live pigs in the first 6 months of 2025 is estimated at 268,000 tons.
