On July 22, Highway Traffic Police Team No. 5 (Traffic Police Department) drew up a record of administrative violations against driver H.Q.B (53 years old, residing in Dong Thuan Ward, Quang Tri Province).
The authorities determined that at around 11:29 a.m. on July 21, Mr. B drove a car with blue license plate 73B-29XX through Km55, Cam Lo - La Son Expressway and overtook a truck on a road with a sign prohibiting overtaking.
Notably, when another truck traveling in the opposite direction rushed forward, the blue-plate car suddenly returned to its lane. This is a section of the expressway with only 2 lanes for two directions and no hard median strip in the middle.
The behavior of driver B was recorded by the dashcam of another vehicle and reported to the traffic police.
The authorities have looked up the vehicle registration data and invited related people to work. For the above violation, driver H.Q.B was fined 5 million VND and had 2 points deducted from his driving license as prescribed in Decree 168.
"The act of reckless overtaking poses a serious risk of causing traffic accidents and will be strictly punished," said the Traffic Police Department.
