From August 25, Dong Thap Provincial Police will officially put into operation 17 surveillance cameras to handle traffic violations on National Highway 1, the section passing through the province.
Accordingly, in order to ensure optimal monitoring efficiency, Dong Thap Provincial Police deployed 17 cameras to serve the monitoring and handling of violations of traffic safety and order in 3 areas with high traffic density and frequent violations, including:
Tan Huong Industrial Park Gate lighting checkpoint area (Km 1955+700, National Highway 1, Tan Thanh Hamlet, Tan Huong Commune). This is a place with a large volume of vehicles, especially trucks and containers entering and leaving the industrial park. The camera system will monitor both directions from My Tho to Ho Chi Minh City and vice versa.
Km 1983+300 area, National Highway 1 (in Thoi Hamlet, Binh Trung Commune) - the connection point between Dong Thap and Vinh Long. The camera here will monitor the two traffic directions of Dong Thap - Vinh Long. This is also a road section where speeding often occurs.
The area of the old My Thuan bridge toll station (Km 2026+600, National Highway 1, in Binh Hamlet, An Huu Commune). This is an important intersection connecting the Western provinces, often experiencing congestion and violations.

After a period of preparation and trial operation, the camera system will officially record and punish violations from 0:00 on August 25, 2025. Up to this point, the cameras only work in warning mode, helping people get acquainted and adjust their behavior when participating in traffic.
The camera system is equipped with modern technology, capable of recording many violations such as: speeding, running red lights, not wearing a helmet, not wearing a seat belt, and other violations according to the law.
