Recognizing the reality of PV, in the early days of April 2025, the people of Cao Bang city were worried when witnessing the section of the Bang Giang river flowing through the center of Cao Bang city, which was increasingly low, the river bed was only small water.
In some places, people can even walk from shore to the other side without crossing the bridge. On the river bed, many people waded fish and small seafood.
The situation of shallow river has left many consequences. Firstly, it is an impact on the daily activities of the people, especially in areas that depend directly on surface water sources such as suburban and highland communes.
According to the forecast of water sources published by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment in early 2025, Bang Giang river basin was assessed in a "normal" state in the shallow season.
However, in fact, in Cao Bang city and surrounding areas are showing signs of local shortage.
In this context, response solutions should be implemented urgently. In addition to strengthening forecasting, early warning and regulating water sources, local authorities need to consider investing in upgrading irrigation systems, seeking water storage solutions more effectively for the dry season.
In Cao Bang city, the locality is currently building a system of daming water to improve the landscape and quality of Bang Giang river water surface.
Accordingly, when completed, the project will offer, keep the water stable for the river, creating a landscape of the city center space and facilitating the exploitation of surface water for production and living in the river.
When the dam is completed, it will create a wide and wide water surface to regulate the climate, improve the ecological environment, develop services, travel on the river and the river banks.
Reducing the amplitude of river water levels, increasing river bank stability, reducing flow speed, minimizing landslides.
The project will regulate the water level in the dry season with a flat valve door and return the flood drainage almost naturally, ensuring flood drainage. Operated by the system of hydraulic equipment to lift the valve door, the total width of the van door is expected to be about 60m. This project will be completed in the occasion of April 30, 2025.
In addition, raising community awareness about water protection, economical and reasonable use of water also plays a very important role.
Another river flowing through Cao Bang city is that the Hien River is in the same situation. The Low River River Water causes surface water to supply daily -life water in the city to be more or less affected.
