After many years of waiting, the Kenh Ngang bridge project on provincial road 922, Co Do commune, Can Tho city is being accelerated in construction progress to soon complete traffic infrastructure in the western area of the city. Currently, the construction unit is focusing manpower, equipment, and organizing overtime to ensure progress in cramped construction conditions.

Talking to a reporter of Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Le Nhut Thu - Deputy Head of Project Management Department 2, Can Tho City Traffic and Agricultural Construction Investment Project Management Board said that the construction unit of the Kenh Ngang bridge project is mobilizing manpower and machinery to accelerate progress, and at many times it is necessary to work overtime at night to ensure the set plan.
According to Mr. Le Nhut Thu, the construction site is basically no longer hindered, but the deployment area is quite cramped, so the organization of construction faces many difficulties.
Currently, the unit is constructing unit 1 towards the center of Co Do commune. Unit 2 is still being maintained for exploitation to serve the travel needs of the people. After completing unit 1, construction of unit 2 will continue, it is impossible to implement both units simultaneously," Mr. Le Nhut Thu informed.
To date, the construction progress has reached about 25% of the total volume of both bridge units.


The Kenh Ngang bridge project on provincial road 922 has a total investment of more than 137 billion VND, implemented in the period 2021-2024. The project has a total length of 429.25m, of which the bridge section is 56.8m long, including 2 units 3m apart.
The project is invested to gradually complete traffic infrastructure in the western area of Can Tho City, strengthening the connection between Co Do commune and key traffic routes such as provincial road 919, National Highway 91 and National Highway 91B; thereby creating favorable conditions for travel and transportation of goods, contributing to promoting local socio-economic development.
By April 2026, the project has approved compensation, support and resettlement plans for 37/39 households and 1/3 of affected organizations, with a total cost of more than 21.35/22.05 billion VND. Currently, payments have been made to 36 households and 1 organization with an amount of more than 20.92 billion VND.
