On May 15, Mr. Dong Van Thanh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Can Tho City had a working session with Soc Trang ward and Tan Thanh, Dai Ngai, and Truong Khanh communes to inspect the progress of the Dai Ngai bridge construction investment project on National Highway 60.

According to the report at the meeting, the planned section of National Highway 60 from National Highway 91B to existing National Highway 60 belongs to the Project to invest in the construction of Dai Ngai bridge on National Highway 60 passing through Can Tho City and Vinh Long province, with a length of about 12.39km. In Can Tho City, the project passes through Soc Trang ward and Dai Ngai, Tan Thanh, and Truong Khanh communes.
This is a key transportation project of important significance in connecting regional transport infrastructure, creating motivation to promote socio-economic development, expand regional linkages, and gradually complete the transportation network on National Highway 60.
Over the past time, the Branch of Land Fund Development Region IX has closely coordinated with localities to implement many tasks related to site clearance. Up to now, the units have carried out inventory and developed compensation and support plans for 41/42 graves affected by the project; and at the same time organized people's meetings to inform policy information, disseminate implementation plans and receive opinions from people related to compensation, support and resettlement.
Regarding land recovery work, Soc Trang ward and Dai Ngai and Truong Khanh communes have deployed land recovery notices in accordance with regulations. In Tan Thanh commune alone, there are still some households that have not completed inventory work, and the locality is continuing to mobilize and propagate to get people to agree and coordinate in implementation.
At the working session, local leaders reported on difficulties and obstacles arising in the project implementation process, especially related to the determination of land prices, architectural values, crops and affected assets to develop appropriate compensation plans, ensuring the rights of people.
Concluding the working session, Mr. Dong Van Thanh acknowledged the efforts of functional sectors and local authorities in the past time; and shared, exchanged and directed specific removals for each existing difficulty and obstacle.
City leaders proposed that localities continue to focus on performing well two key tasks: accelerating the inventory progress for the remaining households, especially in Tan Thanh commune; and at the same time urgently reviewing and determining land prices and the value of architectural works affected to soon complete compensation and support plans according to regulations.
In addition, the Land Fund Development Center continues to coordinate and support localities in each specific task; strengthen propaganda and mobilization to create consensus among the people, contributing to accelerating site clearance progress, ensuring that the Dai Ngai Bridge construction investment project is implemented on schedule.
