The Ring Road V project has a total capital of nearly 700 billion VND, invested by the Thai Nguyen Provincial Traffic and Agricultural Construction Investment Project Management Board, and has been implemented since 2021.
The route has a total length of 6.68km, an average road surface width of 22.5m connecting Thai Nguyen and Bac Giang provinces. This is a section of the more than 330km long route passing through 8 localities with a total investment of VND 86,000 billion.
On April 17, Lao Dong Newspaper's reporter noted that after more than 3 years of implementation, the Ring Road V project has basically been completed.
At the starting point of the project in Huong Son commune (Phu Binh), workers and machinery were mobilized to carry out coiling, paving, constructing sidewalk items and some other auxiliary items.
Currently, most of the road surface of the route has been paved with asphalt. Some hard bridge items are also completed, replacing small and narrow sections and roads, making it easy for people and vehicles to travel.
Project progress report, by April 10, 2025, the roadbed construction progress reached 100% of the volume; the road foundation was supplied with crushed stone and reached 92% of the volume; the asphalt concrete road surface reached 70.4% of the volume.

The drainage system is 100% complete. On this route, there are 2 bridges, the Kenh Chinh bridge and the Kenh Troi bridge, which are under construction at 100% of the volume.
According to the Management Board of Traffic and Agricultural Construction Investment Projects - the investor, the project is being accelerated to complete the final stages to inaugurate the route before April 30, 2025.
For additional items of the Project such as the entire lighting system and expansion and adjustment of some intersections with district roads, construction will be completed in the second quarter of 2025.
When completed, the project will connect the Hanoi - Thai Nguyen expressway with National Highway 37 and Bac Giang province. At the same time, link Yen Binh Complex, Phu Binh District with Bac Giang Province, thereby helping to promote the socio-economic development of the region.

The V road project is more than 330km long, passing through 36 districts, towns and cities of Hanoi, Hoa Binh, Ha Nam, Thai Binh, Hai Duong, Bac Giang, Thai Nguyen, Vinh Phuc.
In the 2021-2025 period, this route is a level II road, 4 lanes and a 6-lane urban road. In the next phase, when there are enough investment resources and transportation needs, the V belt road will be invested in the scale of a 6-lane highway by building an elevated highway or a regular road.
