Dak Lak is launching a North-South high-speed railway project through the province with a length of about 96km and passing through 12 communes and wards.

On July 31, the Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee issued a preliminary report on the first 6 months of the year related to three projects. Including the high-speed railway project on the North-South axis, the section passing through Dak Lak province.

The project has a total length of about 96km, passing through 12 communes and wards. The starting point is in Xuan Loc commune, bordering Gia Lai province, and the end point is in Hoa Xuan commune, bordering Khanh Hoa province.

The project is newly invested in the entire 1,435mm double track, designed speed of 350 km/h, load capacity of 22.5 tons/axle; arranged a Tuy Hoa station in Phu Yen ward.

In addition, there are two maintenance stations. Of which, one station is located in Xuan Tho commune, the other station is combined with Tuy Hoa station.

The project implementation progress is to prepare a feasibility study report from 2025, striving to basically complete the project by 2035.

According to the pre-feasibility study report provided by the Railway Project Management Board, the land and forest area accounts for about 1,100 hectares.

About 4,143 households are affected by the project's site clearance. The resettlement area serves the needs of site clearance for project implementation with a total area of about 86 hectares and three burial areas with an area of about 4.2 hectares.

The Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee is advising the entire steering committee headed by the Provincial Party Secretary. At the same time, the province also established a working group to assist the Steering Committee for site clearance.

The province also assigned the Economic Zone Management Board to coordinate with relevant agencies to organize the preparation of a 1/2,000 scale zoning plan for the area expected to develop urban areas and functional areas (according to the TOD model) Hoa Thanh, to serve as a basis for implementing a land exploitation project with an expected area of about 200 hectares.

In the first six months of 2025, the Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee has conducted a review and had preliminary data on resettlement needs for the project.

The province also assigned units to carry out the task of compensation, support, resettlement/investor in the construction of resettlement area projects and relocation of technical infrastructure.

The Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee has reported to the Ministry of Construction to propose choosing a location to organize a groundbreaking ceremony and start construction of a resettlement area to serve site clearance work.
