Hoa Xuan 1,940 billion VND intersection project behind schedule, people are tired of traffic jams

Despite having a design plan from the recruitment contest, the Hoa Xuan bridge intersection project (Cam Le district, Da Nang city) is still "inactive", causing traffic congestion in the area to increasingly worsen.

Traffic bottlenecks - the obsession of the people

Hoa Xuan Bridge, an important gateway connecting urban areas in the South of Da Nang, is becoming a black spot for traffic congestion. Not only during rush hour, the traffic flow is dense, inching forward on Nguyen Phuoc Lan, Thang Long, Le Thanh Nghi, Cach Mang Thang Tam, Nui Thanh, and Duong 2 Thang 9 streets pouring down to Hoa Xuan bridge.

This situation not only makes it difficult for people to travel but also affects the economic and social activities of the area. Mr. Huynh Minh Huy, a resident of Da Nang, shared: "Every day I have to go through Hoa Xuan bridge to work. Traffic jams here are constant, taking me a lot of time and effort. Sometimes it only takes an hour to get through a short distance. It's really tiring and frustrating."

Not only the people in the city, but also the people in neighboring districts are heavily affected by this congestion. Mr. Nguyen Van Phuoc, residing in Cam Le District, said: "I often have to transport goods across Hoa Xuan Bridge. Since this area became crowded, the transportation of goods has encountered many difficulties. Traffic congestion has caused long transportation times and high costs, greatly affecting business operations".

The increase in population in new urban areas such as Hoa Xuan, Hoa Quy along with the density of heavy trucks traveling on National Highway 14B to Tien Sa port is the main cause of overload at the Hoa Xuan bridge intersection. The lack of synchronous traffic solutions makes this traffic bottleneck increasingly seriously affect people's lives.

The 1,940 billion VND project is "shelved"

Since March 2024, the People's Council of Da Nang City has approved the investment policy for the Le Thanh Nghi - Cach Mang Thang Tam - Thang Long - intersection project - the road leading to Hoa Xuan bridge with a total investment of nearly 1,940 billion VND, expected to be completed in the 2024-2028 period.

The design plan includes the construction of a new 6 -lane Hoa Xuan bridge, a different traffic organization on the August Revolution, expanding Thang Long - Hoa Xuan intersection and renovating adjacent intersections. The competition for recruitment plans for architectural planning has been organized and awarded in November 2024. In particular, the Organizing Committee of the contest awarded the first prize of VND 400 million to the joint venture of Chodai & Kiso Jiban Vietnam Co., Ltd. - T&D Vietnam Construction Consulting Joint Stock Company - NH Village Architectural Design Co., Ltd. - Hoa Phong E&C Investment & Development Joint Stock Company. After awarding, Da Nang plans to research and select good and highly feasible ideas in the exam options to complete the investment plan to build the new Hoa Xuan Bridge Project and the Hoa Xuan Bridge intersection cluster, submit it to the approval authority for implementation.

However, after 5 months, the project has not been implemented. According to Mr. Nguyen Ha Nam, Director of the Department of Construction of Da Nang City, the Department is currently developing a plan and advising the City People's Committee to choose an investment policy.

“The traffic area of ​​Hoa Xuan bridge is particularly complicated, including a series of 3 continuous buttons, with an additional river in the middle. Therefore, to solve the problem of traffic congestion here, the construction industry has organized the examination of planning and architectural plans and awarded, proposed investment research plans to improve. Traffic conflict issues in this area, ”Mr. Nguyen Ha Nam said.

According to Mr. Nam, regarding the project progress, in 2025, the investment policy and investment plan for the Hoa Xuan bridge intersection will be approved by competent authorities. When the competent authority approves, the Department of Construction will widely announce.
