Currently, on Ha Huy Tap Street and Nguyen Thi Bich Chau Street (Ky Anh Town), a series of newly planted Taiwanese banyan trees have died.
Local people said that the green trees were planted near the Lunar New Year, but after a few months, many trees died without a clear cause.

According to the Center for Infrastructure and Urban Services of Ky Anh Town (under the People's Committee of Ky Anh Town), the Project to plant trees on Ha Huy Tap Street and Nguyen Thi Bich Chau Street has a total investment of 4.5 billion VND.
Of which, the charity fund of an organization sponsored 4 billion VND, the remaining 500 million VND is counterpart capital from the budget of the People's Committee of Ky Anh town. The Center for Infrastructure and Urban Services of Ky Anh town is the project investor.
The unit implementing the planting is Ha Do Green Tree and Construction Joint Stock Company (located in Bac Tu Liem District, Hanoi City) with the planting of more than 1,000 Taiwanese banyan trees since November 2024.
A representative of the Center for Infrastructure and Urban Services of Ky Anh town informed that the unit had known about the death of trees after planting them on Ha Huy Tap street and Nguyen Thi Bich Chau street and had inspected them.
Through inspection, it was determined that about 20-30% of the trees on Ha Huy Tap Street were dead, while on Nguyen Thi Bich Chau Street, the number of dead trees was less, at about 10%. The cause of the tree death is believed to be due to harsh weather and prolonged frost.

According to the representative of the Center for Infrastructure Services and Urban Areas of Ky Anh Town, the project has not yet been accepted and handed over, so after checking and discovering many dead trees, the investor has requested Ha Do Joint Stock Company to replant those dead trees. The fix is expected to be finalized at the end of April.
In Ha Tinh, in the past few years, a number of tree planting projects have been implemented, but after planting, many places have a high rate of tree deaths.
In which, there is a project to plant nearly 300 tamarind trees on the road to the tomb of the late General Secretary Ha Huy Tap invested by the People's Committee of Cam Hung commune (Cam Xuyen district), with a total investment of 4 billion VND.
An Nguyen Green Tree Company Limited (headquartered in Da Nang City) won the bid to implement the project. However, after planting, many trees died, and by the end of 2024, the construction unit had planted additional dead trees.

The Lat tree planting project on National Highway 15B from Giang Intersection through Viet Tien Commune is over 3km long, invested by the People's Committee of Thach Ha District with a total cost of 7 billion VND, and the Tay Nam Bo Company also planted a series of dead trees.
After that, the winning bidder replanted the dead trees, but most of them continued to die. Currently, the investor is continuing to contact the contractor to request another replantation.
