Ho Chi Minh City today (October 22) has changing clouds, light sunshine in the morning and afternoon, and pleasant temperatures. In the afternoon and evening, thunderstorms will develop, causing rain in many places, with moderate to heavy rain in some places, concentrated in the center and North of the city.
In the Southeast regions from afternoon to evening, showers and thunderstorms occurred in about 2/3 of the area, with some places having moderate to heavy rain, concentrated in Dong Nai province and Binh Duong ward (HCMC).
In the Western regions, rain will appear from noon in coastal areas such as Ca Mau, then spread in the afternoon and evening. Some places such as Can Tho and An Giang are likely to experience very heavy rain. Heavy rain with high tides in major rivers is still high, which can cause local flooding in some areas.
Regarding high tides, the highest water level of the day at most stations on the Saigon River is likely to be high for another 2-3 days, then decrease rapidly. The highest daily tide peak will be approximately at or above alert level I and will last until October 26.
This is a high tide period, it is necessary to be on guard against heavy rain combined with high tides causing flooding in low-lying areas, along rivers affecting traffic and socio-economic activities in the Ho Chi Minh City area.
