Phu Tho - At noon on October 6, the military ferry was temporarily stopped to prepare for the reinstallation of Phong Chau pontoon bridge.

According to an announcement from the Phu Tho Provincial Police on the morning of October 6, by noon the same day, the military ferry across the Red River connecting Lam Thao and Tam Nong districts will temporarily stop operating, preparing to reinstall the Phong Chau pontoon bridge to serve the travel needs of the people.

Previously, on the afternoon of October 4, the 249th Engineering Brigade (Engineering Corps) and Military Region 2 used a ferry to temporarily replace the Phong Chau pontoon bridge, which had to be temporarily suspended due to the rising water level of the Red River, the large flow rate, and the unsafe condition.

Unlike the pontoon bridge that can allow cars and pickup trucks to pass, the military ferry only serves pedestrians and motorbikes. Therefore, the reinstallation of the Phong Chau pontoon bridge will serve more effectively and fully meet the huge demand for people to cross the river.
