Connecting Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway, Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway
The project of the road connecting to Phuoc An port is invested and constructed with the goal of completing the transportation system according to the plan, connecting the area with Ho Chi Minh City, the Southeast region, the Mekong Delta, and other areas conveniently.
In addition, along with road 319, the road connecting to Phuoc An port is the shortest route connecting the two expressways Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay and Ben Luc - Long Thanh, ensuring the role of transporting goods by road to Phuoc An port, the logistics service area with the regional transportation system.
Currently, the road connecting Phuoc An port is being constructed in two segments.
Segment 1, over 5 km long (from the intersection with road 319 to the intersection with Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressway) is invested with the provincial budget of Dong Nai with a total investment of about 345 billion VND.
Segment 2 (from the intersection with Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressway to Phuoc An port) is nearly 6 km long, invested in the form of PPP, BOT contract with a total investment of over 1,000 billion VND, started in 2022, expected to be completed and put into operation in 2025.
Expected to open the road connecting Phuoc An port in 2025
For segment 1, from the intersection with road 319 to the intersection with Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressway has been completed and put into operation with a road surface width of 12 m, roadbed width of 10.5 m, and each side's shoulder width of 0.75 m. Currently, the Dong Nai Provincial Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board is continuing to expand the road scale to have a road boundary of 61 m, including a road surface width of 30 m, a median strip width of 3 m, and each side's sidewalk width of 14 m.
Meanwhile, segment 2, from the intersection with Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressway to Phuoc An port is being asphalted by the contractor, installing lighting equipment, traffic safety warning systems, and toll stations, expected to open in 2025.
After completion and operation, this road will pass through road 319 to form a traffic axis connecting the two expressways Ben Luc - Long Thanh and Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay, reducing the load for National Highway 51, playing an important role in transporting raw materials for production, goods of the Industrial Zones in Nhon Trach district to Phuoc An port, promoting the breakthrough economic growth of Nhon Trach district.
Mr. Nguyen The Phong - Acting Chairman of the People's Committee of Nhon Trach district said that to seize the development opportunity when Phuoc An port phase 1 goes into operation, Nhon Trach district has focused and prioritized investment in the traffic routes connecting to Phuoc An port.
A representative of Phuoc An Port Investment and Exploitation Joint Stock Company (PAP) said that Phuoc An port is expected to be put into operation in September 2024.
According to the plan, Phuoc An port is divided into port sub-zones and logistics service sub-zones. In which, the port sub-zone has a total area of 183 ha, a total berth length of 3,050m, including 6 container berths, 4 general berths capable of receiving ships with a tonnage of 60,000 DWT. This is the largest seaport in Dong Nai province, located in port group No. 5 - the port system of Ho Chi Minh City - Dong Nai - Ba Ria - Vung Tau, approved by the Prime Minister in the detailed planning in August 2005 and approved for the development planning of Vietnam's seaport system until 2020, with an orientation to 2030.
