Railways increase dozens of train trips during the 2/9 holiday

The railway industry adds dozens of trains and launches the Hue - Phong Nha tourist train to serve travel needs during the National Day holiday 2. 9.

On August 21, Railway Transport Joint Stock Company said it had developed a plan to organize train operations to serve people's travel needs during the 2026 National Day holiday, lasting from August 28 to the end of September 2.

On the North-South Thong Nhat railway line, in addition to 6 pairs of regular passenger trains including SE1/SE2, SE3/SE4, SE5/SE6, SE7/SE8, SE9/SE10 and SE11/SE12, the railway industry organizes additional trains SE23 and SE24 on the 28th and 31st. 8. Area sections are also strengthened with a total of 33 additional train trips.

Hanoi - Da Nang route maintains the SE19/SE20 pair and runs SE17 on August 29, SE18 on August 30. 8. Hanoi - Vinh route maintains NA1/NA2, and at the same time strengthens NA3 on August 28 and QB2 on August 1 and 2. 9. On the Hanoi - Dong Hoi route, train QB1 runs on August 28 and QB2 runs on August 31.

The Hanoi - Hai Phong route continues to maintain 4 pairs of trains per day including HP1/HP2, LP2/LP3, LP5/LP6 and LP7/LP8. During the holiday, the railway industry will run 12 more trips, including LP9, LP10, HP3 and HP4 from August 29 to September 2.

In the Southern region, in addition to trains SE21/SE22 running regularly on the Saigon - Da Nang route, the Saigon - Quy Nhon, Saigon - Nha Trang and Saigon - Phan Thiet routes are also strengthened with more trips.

Notably, during this year's holiday, the railway industry is preparing to put into operation the tourist train "Hue Citadel - Phong Nha: Journey of World Heritage".

According to the plan, the train opening ceremony will be held on the morning of August 28 at Dong Hoi station. After the opening ceremony, the first train, numbered HQ3, will depart from Dong Hoi station to Hue station. The train consists of 8 carriages, with a capacity of more than 300 passengers, including 5 soft seated carriages rotating 180 degrees, 1 24-seat VIP carriage, along with community and service carriages.

This new product is expected to contribute to connecting heritage and tourism destinations in the Central region, creating new experiences for passengers.

Updated to August 21, the entire railway system has sold about 64,000 tickets for the holiday. The railway industry recommends passengers to actively buy tickets early to choose a suitable trip.
