Information from Vietnam Railways Corporation (VNR) said that in the face of the cooling trend of domestic fuel prices, VNR officially announced a program to adjust and reduce passenger train ticket prices on key routes to accompany passengers during the tourist season.
Accordingly, from July 1 to August 16, 2026, the railway industry adjusts to reduce ticket prices by 10% for many passenger trains on the North - South route and some sectional routes.
Specific ticket price reductions will be applied flexibly based on travel distance and each type of seat chosen by passengers. For the North-South arterial traffic axis, the Unified trains numbered SE will record reductions ranging from 110,000 VND to 280,000 VND per ticket.
Some section trains are also reduced by 10%, including: SNT1, SNT2, SNT4, SNT5 trains on the Saigon - Nha Trang route, reduced by 70,000 - 160,000 VND/ticket; NA1/NA2 trains on the Hanoi - Vinh route for 4-berth compartments, reduced by 50,000 - 80,000 VND/ticket.
For the 6-bed compartment of NA1/NA2 ships, the reduction is applied according to each departure day: NA1 ships on Thursdays and Fridays every week; NA2 ships on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays every week.
Previously, at the end of June 2026, the railway industry reduced ticket prices by 3% for some Unified trains on the North - South route, train pairs NA1/NA2 Hanoi - Vinh route (depending on departure date) and trains SP3/SP4, SP7 Hanoi - Lao Cai route.
According to VNR, to maximally serve the needs of the people, the entire discounted ticket system has been synchronized on the official online ticket sales channels of the railway industry as well as popular banking and e-wallet applications.
