At the construction site of Ring Road 2.5 section Cau Giay - Dich Vong New Urban Area (Cau Giay ward, Hanoi) in September, many machines and workers were mobilized to speed up construction progress.
The section has a length of 420m, started many years ago, but by May 2026, the local government will complete site clearance to deploy the construction of the road.
Project commander - Mr. Do Van Giap said that the construction of items is being urgently deployed by the contractor.
The time from now until the technical traffic opening milestone is not much, so all engineers and workers are working hard every day, every hour to ensure the project progress" - Mr. Giap said.
In addition to Ring Road 2.5, Cau Giay - Dich Vong New Urban Area section, other sections of the route such as Dich Vong - Duong Dinh Nghe New Urban Area; Vu Pham Ham - Tran Duy Hung; Nguy Nhu Kon Tum - Nguyen Trai; Nguyen Trai - Dam Hong... are also being urgently constructed.
The project section from Nguyen Trai to Dam Hong in Khuong Dinh ward is about 1.5km long.
The investor and contractors are organizing simultaneous construction of 3 fronts, prioritizing completing the underground technical infrastructure system, electricity and underground works to ensure synchronization before asphalt concrete paving.
The project to invest in the construction of Ring Road 2.5 sections: Dich Vong - Duong Dinh Nghe New Urban Area; Vu Pham Ham - Tran Duy Hung; Nguy Nhu Kon Tum - Nguyen Trai is divided into 3 sections, with a total length of about 2.26 km.
This is a project implemented under the urgent construction order of the City People's Committee and started on March 20, 2026.
To date, the Dich Vong - Duong Dinh Nghe New Urban Area section has reached about 80% of the volume, has completed the rainwater and wastewater drainage system and is constructing the foundation, road surface, and technical infrastructure, striving to basically complete it before October 5, 2026.
The remaining two sections are focusing on constructing the roadbed and drainage system.
However, according to the Hanoi Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board, the construction process faces many difficulties due to both having to protect the existing underground technical infrastructure system on Nguyen Trai, Tran Duy Hung, Vu Pham Ham routes, and being affected by prolonged rainy weather, waste soil transportation and the receiving capacity of landfills are still limited.
For the construction item of road No. 5 to the Center of Tay Ho Tay New Urban Area, the length of the route is 582.04m, cross-section 50m, connecting from the Diplomatic Corps area to Nguyen Hoang Ton street.
By the end of June 2026, the entire site has been handed over, creating conditions for the project to accelerate implementation.
Up to now, the roadbed item and underground technical infrastructure system have been completed; asphalt paving, sidewalk paving, curbs, installation of lighting systems, green trees and traffic organization are being urgently implemented according to schedule; the goal is to complete the remaining items and technically open traffic before September 30, 2026.
Inspecting the site of the Ring Road 2 project on September 9, Member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Trong Dong requested units to mobilize maximum manpower, machinery, and equipment; maintain "3 shifts, 4 crews" construction, take advantage of favorable weather to compensate for progress, determined to technically open Ring Road 2.5 on the occasion of the Capital Liberation Day 10. 10.
Ring Road 2.5 starts from Ciputra New Urban Area, ending at the intersection with Ring Road 3 (section near Thanh Tri bridge) with a total length of about 19.64km, planned width of 40-50m.
It is expected that by October 10, when the remaining sections of the route are technically opened to traffic, Ring Road 2.5 Hanoi will be officially closed, helping to reduce congestion for Ring Road 2 and Ring Road 3 routes, contributing to the socio-economic development of the Capital.
