Opening a new direction for workers in difficult areas
Statistics from Ea Trang Commune People's Committee show that the locality currently has 6,760 people. Of which, more than 95% are ethnic minorities. The whole commune has 536 poor households, accounting for 32.62%; 178 near-poor households, accounting for 10.83%.
Faced with the reality that people's lives are still facing many difficulties, local authorities are focusing on implementing vocational training, counseling, and job introduction solutions to create sustainable livelihoods, helping people gradually escape poverty.

Mr. Tran Tien Ngon - Vice Chairman of Ea Trang Commune People's Committee said that previously, most of the labor in the area was mainly attached to swidden fields, small-scale agricultural production, and income depended heavily on the crop season, so it was very difficult to accumulate and improve life.
Faced with that situation, the Commune People's Committee has coordinated with functional agencies of the province to deploy consulting, job introduction, career orientation and propaganda on programs to send workers to work abroad, including labor export.
In 2026, the commune organized propaganda and counseling in 10 hamlets in the area, helping people access information about recruitment needs, conditions for participating in the labor market as well as industries suitable for the capacity and qualifications of each subject.

Through the implementation process, the locality continues to draw experience, screen suitable occupations to replicate in the coming time. When people are advised and introduced to suitable jobs with stable incomes, they themselves will become spreading factors, mobilizing more people to participate," Mr. Ngon shared.
One of the positive signs is that more and more young workers in the area are boldly seeking new opportunities instead of just relying on traditional agricultural production.

For example, Nguyen Hoai Thuong (resident of Buon Myui) is one of the first workers from Ea Trang commune to go to Korea to work seasonally in 2026.
Before leaving the country, at a meeting with workers going to work seasonally in localities of Korea organized by the Department of Home Affairs on April 29, Thuong could not hide her excitement about the new journey.
I think this is not only an opportunity for myself but also a motivation for many young people in the countryside to boldly look for jobs in new environments promising higher incomes in the locality," Thuong shared.

Mr. Thao Van Chu's family is one of the households still facing many difficulties in Ea Trang commune. The family has 4 people, the main source of income is from hired labor and agricultural production, so despite trying hard to work, life is still very lacking.
Mr. Chu said that recently, when accessing information about job counseling, vocational training, and labor export orientation programs implemented by local authorities, he and many people in the village have had more choices to change their lives.
In 2026, I see many poor households, families in difficult circumstances, young people, and women of working age being supported by the government with job counseling and career orientation, so I also want to find a suitable direction for myself.
If possible, I would like to participate in vocational training classes on animal husbandry and cultivation so that I can borrow capital to develop production, improve the family economy, and take care of my children's education better," Mr. Chu added.
Vocational training associated with practical needs
In addition to sending workers to work at enterprises and industrial parks, Ea Trang commune also focuses on vocational training on the spot to help people apply it immediately to production and improve family economic efficiency.
The resources for implementation are mainly based on national target programs for socio-economic development in ethnic minority areas in the coming period.

To realize the above goal, the Commune People's Committee has coordinated with specialized units to organize many propaganda and career guidance activities, supporting people to access vocational training policies.
The classes focus on practical fields such as farming techniques, animal husbandry, crop care, agricultural product processing, basic repair, services... suitable for local economic development conditions.
Through training, people gradually change production methods, improve labor productivity, and limit the situation of unemployment or dependence only on seasonal labor.

Leaders of the Culture - Society Department (Ea Trang Commune People's Committee) said that vocational training must be linked to job creation, avoiding the situation where people learn a trade but have no environment to apply it.
Therefore, the locality continues to focus on connecting trained workers with businesses and production facilities. At the same time, encourage people to develop economic models suitable to actual conditions.
