Lighting up hope of escaping poverty
To contribute to the effective implementation of the National Target Program for socio-economic development of ethnic minority and mountainous areas in the period 2021 - 2030, the People's Committee of Ea Trang commune determined that surveying people's vocational learning needs is one of the key stages.
Instead of organizing training in the traditional way, the locality focuses on learning about production conditions, family circumstances and people's career aspirations to build classrooms suitable for reality.
This approach helps improve training efficiency and limit the situation of vocational training not being linked to labor demand.
Mr. Y Duyen Nie - official of the Culture and Social Affairs Department of Ea Trang commune - is a person who has been attached to the grassroots for many years. Having participated in mass mobilization work and part-time activities in the locality, he understands the customs, habits as well as production characteristics of people in villages.

According to Mr. Y Duyen Nie, to change the production thinking and working methods of the people, officials must regularly stick to the grassroots level, listen to the thoughts and aspirations of young people and women of working age.
On that basis, vocational training classes and suitable job counseling can be opened so that people can boldly participate, gradually improve their income and rise out of poverty.

From now until the end of 2026, Ea Trang commune plans to open one more pig farming class and one civil sewing class in 4 hamlets in the area.
The classes are organized in a practical direction, focusing on professional skills, with the "holding hands and guiding" method to help students easily absorb and apply immediately to production and labor after completing the course.
Many young people in difficult circumstances have expressed their desire to learn a trade to change their lives. Mr. Y Thu Bya (born 2004) is currently married and raising young children. The family's income mainly depends on agricultural production on an area of about one sao of rice fields, so life is still difficult.
After finishing secondary school, Y Thu Bya wishes to participate in a vocational training class to have a more stable job in the future. For him, vocational training is not only an opportunity to find income but also a way to help his family gradually escape poverty.

Bringing job opportunities closer to workers
In parallel with vocational training, functional agencies also provide career orientation and job counseling support for people in the commune.

Mr. Le Hai Ly - Director of Dak Lak Provincial Employment Service Center (under the Department of Home Affairs) - said that in the first 5 months of 2026, the unit coordinated with the People's Committee of Ea Trang commune to organize 6 counseling sessions, conferences and job transaction sessions for nearly 500 people in 10 villages and hamlets such as Ea Bra, Ea Boa, M'Gom, M'Hap, M'Liă, Thi, M'O and M'Jam.
Through these activities, information about the labor market is gradually brought closer to people in remote and isolated areas, especially ethnic minorities.

According to Mr. Ly, people in these areas often face many difficulties in accessing recruitment information, job support policies and opportunities to work abroad.
Therefore, the Provincial Employment Service Center has proactively coordinated with local authorities to organize mobile job transaction sessions, job fairs and direct counseling sessions at the grassroots level.
Through this, workers are provided with information about recruitment needs of businesses inside and outside the province, working conditions, income levels as well as preferential loan policies to participate in the program of sending workers to work abroad under contracts.
