In September 2026, Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee responded to voters' opinions and recommendations sent to the 2nd Session of the 8th Provincial People's Council, term 2026 - 2031.
Previously, voters in Nha Trang ward proposed that the Provincial People's Committee consider not implementing the policy of relocating Nha Trang Station.
At the same time, study a plan to promote the value of the station associated with architectural, historical and cultural preservation, aiming to make Nha Trang Station a local sightseeing and tourist destination.

According to the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province, Nha Trang Station is a national railway infrastructure project belonging to the Thong Nhat railway line (Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City), managed by the Ministry of Transport (now the Ministry of Construction).
Based on the Railway Network Plan for the period 2021 - 2030, vision to 2050 approved by the Prime Minister, the existing railway line through Nha Trang ward and Nha Trang station continues to be maintained, maintained, and upgraded in the direction of national railway development.
Therefore, according to the current national industry planning orientation, Nha Trang Station will not be relocated from its central location as some previous research proposals suggested.
Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee assesses Nha Trang Station as not only an important traffic hub but also an architectural work of historical and cultural value, associated with the formation and development of the coastal city of Nha Trang.
Implementing the Khanh Hoa Provincial Plan for the period 2021 - 2030, vision to 2050 and the Project on Adjusting the General Plan of Nha Trang City to 2040 that has been approved, the locality orients to preserve the original state of the existing Nha Trang Railway Station architectural works.
The space of the station area is also oriented to connect with parks, squares and surrounding transportation systems, thereby forming a symbolic architectural - cultural complex in the central area.
Regarding tourism development, the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to coordinate with relevant departments, branches and Vietnam Railways Corporation to study options for exploitation and preservation of Nha Trang Station.
The plan is oriented to combine the organization of short-day tourist train routes, high-quality passenger pick-up and drop-off points with architectural heritage display and sightseeing spaces.
The goal is to make Nha Trang Station a unique tourist and cultural destination for tourists and people.
In the coming time, Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee said it will continue to direct the Department of Construction and relevant departments and branches to closely coordinate with the Central Railway Management Agency to manage, invest and effectively exploit the project, ensuring compliance with the planning approved by competent authorities.
