On September 14 (local time), according to AFP, the Houthi forces announced a series of attacks with dozens of ballistic missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) targeting Saudi Arabia, while the Saudi-led coalition confirmed attacks targeting the cities of Khamis Mushait, Abha and Taif that injured 13 people.
Houthi said one of the targets of the large-scale attack was King Khalid Air Force Base in Khamis Mushait, southern Saudi Arabia. A resident in the city told AFP that he heard "fierce explosions" and prolonged fires.
Saudi Arabia warned it would react "toughly" to protect sovereignty. The coalition declared it would take all necessary combat measures to prevent attacks.
According to the Houthi, Saudi Arabia has conducted more than 50 airstrikes in response, similar to the previous day. This information was released in the context of fighting between the Houthi and Yemeni government forces backed by Saudi Arabia continuing to heat up.
Houthi and Yemeni government forces have resumed fighting since July, when civil war in Yemen broke out again. Houthi then declared a maritime blockade against Saudi Arabia and began targeting its ships in the Red Sea.
Last week, the Houthi declared control of the western coast of Yemen and the Bab el-Mandeb Strait area, a strategic maritime route connecting the Red Sea with the Gulf of Aden.

Meanwhile, Yemeni government forces announced that they had regained some positions in Taiz province and launched airstrikes, killing at least 10 Houthi gunmen, according to Saba news agency.
Houthi affirms that the retaliatory actions will continue and escalate if Saudi Arabia maintains military operations in Yemen.
