On the morning of October 17, Hanoi City Police had official information about the warehouse fire in the city on the night of October 16.
Accordingly, at 9:20 p.m. on October 16, the Command Center and City Police received a report of a fire at a warehouse in lane 124 Vinh Tuy, Thanh Tri ward, Hoang Mai district (bordering Vinh Tuy ward, Hai Ba Trung district).
Immediately upon receiving the information, determining that the fire was likely to become complicated, the Center informed the command to mobilize the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police force of the Hai Ba Trung, Hoang Mai, Hoan Kiem, Ba Dinh District Police and the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Team No. 1 - Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department of the City Police with 80 officers and soldiers along with 10 fire trucks and specialized vehicles to the scene to coordinate with local authorities and people to organize fire fighting.
At the scene, it was determined that the location of the fire had many warehouses with flammable materials and ingredients, generating a lot of toxic smoke and gas, burning quickly and possibly spreading to neighboring factories and warehouses.
Assessing the situation, the authorities promptly deployed combat teams, exploited and used natural water sources on site and the fire-fighting water supply system from city water hydrants to organize fire fighting, prevent fire spread and search and rescue.
After a period of effort, at about 23:45 the same day, the fire was controlled by the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Force. At 01:00 on October 17, the fire was extinguished.
Authorities have protected more than 8,000 square meters of warehouse and dozens of adjacent households.
Initial statistics show that the fire affected an area of approximately 370 square meters, with no reported casualties. The cause of the fire is under investigation by authorities.
