Initial information, at around 9:20 p.m. on October 16, the Command Information Center (TTCH), Hanoi City Police received a fire alarm at a warehouse in Vinh Tuy ward, Hai Ba Trung district.
Immediately upon receiving the news, the TTCH Center mobilized the Fire Prevention and Rescue Team and Hai Ba Trung District Police to the scene, coordinating with functional forces at the facility to fight the fire and rescue.
Initially, the warehouse was surrounded by corrugated iron (around the perimeter and roof), and contained many flammable materials. Black smoke could be seen billowing from afar. Authorities quickly arrived at the scene to control the fire and prevent it from spreading.
According to a representative of Vinh Tuy Ward Police, Hai Ba Trung District, Hanoi, the fire broke out at a warehouse located near Hanoi University of Business and Technology.
Speaking to Lao Dong Newspaper, Ms. Quynh Anh, who lives in T&T Riverview apartment building, 440 Vinh Hung (opposite the fire), said that the fire was raging, with a column of black smoke rising tens of meters high. The fire could be seen from afar. Authorities arrived promptly to extinguish the fire.
A representative of Vinh Tuy Ward Police said that there is currently no information on whether there were any casualties in the fire.
The cause of the fire is being investigated and damage from the fire is being verified.
