On July 11, information from the People's Committee of Xuan Lap commune, Thanh Hoa province said that an electrical incident had just occurred at a farm in the area, causing nearly 10,000 chickens to die.
At about 11:30 am on July 10, an electrical short circuit occurred at Ms. Vu Thi Huyen's chicken farm, burning 7 ventilation fans in operation, causing the ventilation and cooling system in the chicken coop area to be interrupted.
Immediately after discovering the incident, the farm owner urgently implemented remedial measures. However, due to the ventilation system being interrupted for a period of time, nearly 10,000 chickens were suffocated and died.
In addition to damage to livestock, the incident also burned 8 electric motors, damaged the entire general switch system and power lines supplying to the barn area.
According to a representative of Xuan Lap Commune People's Committee, the initial cause was determined to be a heavy rain that occurred earlier, causing the electrical system to be contaminated with water, leading to a short circuit in the general switch and damage to the power supply cable for the barn area.
