National Highway 12 is an inter-provincial road connecting 2 provinces in the Northwest region of Vietnam, Lai Chau (starting point) and Dien Bien (end point) together, with a total length of nearly 200km.
The Project to Repair Damage to Foundation, Road Surface, Drainage Works and Traffic Safety System section Km143+175 - Km151+740, National Highway 12 was approved by Dien Bien Provincial People's Committee according to Decision No. 278/QD-UBND dated February 9, 2026.
This project belongs to Group C, with a total investment of nearly 59 billion VND invested by the Department of Construction of Dien Bien province.
According to the reporter's investigation, on February 27, the investor issued a notice inviting bids for the construction package of the project.
The above-mentioned construction package was widely bid through the network, with a price of nearly 54.6 billion VND from economic career capital (road maintenance costs).
Based on the existing road surface foundation, the winning unit of the above bidding package will proceed with visibility clearance, repairing local damage to the foundation and road surface with a length of more than 8.5km; reinforcing sidewalks, asphalt concrete pavement; repairing drainage systems...
Along with that, construct to supplement and complete road markings, corrugated iron guardrails, directional guides, reflective nails, traffic signs, markers, H poles, Km poles according to standards.
The maximum completion time of the bidding package is 18 months.
The project is invested with the goal of maintaining and improving operating conditions, ensuring traffic safety and extending the lifespan of the National Highway 12 project.
With National Highway 279, it is a key inter-provincial road connecting the northern mountainous provinces, with the starting point in Quang Ninh province and the ending point at Tay Trang border gate (Sam Mun commune, Dien Bien province).
Also on February 27, the Department of Construction of Dien Bien province announced a bidding invitation for the construction package of the project to repair many sections on National Highway 279.
Specifically, the project to repair damaged foundations, road surfaces, drainage works in sections Km57+300 - Km59+400; Km59+717- Km60+670; Km73+100 - K74+00; Km99+878 - Km102+650; Km103+400 - Km103+900; supplementing traffic lights on National Highway 279.
The construction and installation package was widely bid through the network, with a price of nearly 56.4 billion VND from economic career capital (road maintenance costs).
Based on the existing road surface foundation, the winning unit of the construction package will carry out construction on the above 5 route sections, with a total length of more than 7.3km.
The scope of work of the bidding package is to perform visibility barriers, repair local damage to the road surface, reinforce sidewalks, asphalt concrete pavement; repair drainage systems, traffic safety and supplement traffic lights...
Previously, from February 5, 2026, Dien Bien Provincial People's Committee issued Decision No. 250/QD-UBND, approving the project to repair National Highway 279 with a total investment of nearly 61 billion VND.
