On February 24, recorded on National Highway 13 at the gateway to Ho Chi Minh City, the traffic situation was not congested, and the road was clear.
This result is partly thanks to the progress of the project to upgrade and expand National Highway 13 section passing through the old Binh Duong province being accelerated.
The section from the Ong Bo bridge intersection to the Le Hong Phong road intersection, about 9km long, is about to complete the expansion from 6 to 8 lanes.

In which, notably, the section from the Ong Bo bridge intersection to VSIP Industrial Park (through Lai Thieu ward, Thuan Giao) about 4 km has completed asphalting the road surface. Units are constructing to complete sidewalks and green trees. At the same time, paint lines are drawn, and medians are installed to divide National Highway 13 into 4 lanes on each side.
Currently, vehicles can move on the newly expanded road section. Traffic through this area is clear, vehicles move conveniently.
It is known that the project to upgrade and expand National Highway 13 from 6 to 8 lanes, a section nearly 15km long through Binh Duong (formerly), started in early 2022. The project is being expanded from Ho Chi Minh City to Thu Dau Mot. The initial investment capital is 1,400 billion VND, then the total investment of the project was adjusted and approved at 6,255 billion VND.
The project expects to reduce traffic congestion at the gateway to the center of Ho Chi Minh City. At the same time, it creates momentum for urban and economic development in Lai Thieu, Thuan An, Binh Hoa, Thuan Giao, and Thu Dau Mot wards.
