On the afternoon of July 5, leaders of Khanh Hoa Department of Health informed about many cases of hospitalization after eating at a chicken rice restaurant in Cam Ranh ward, Khanh Hoa province.

According to initial information, on July 2 and 3, Cam Ranh Regional General Hospital received about 50 hospitalized cases with symptoms of abdominal pain, nausea, diarrhea and suspected food poisoning.
The patients are all local people and all said they ate at Quynh Nga chicken rice restaurant before symptoms appeared.
After being rescued and treated, 10 cases have been discharged from the hospital. The remaining patients continue to be monitored and treated.
According to the leader of Khanh Hoa Department of Health, the health of the patients is currently stable and it is expected that 30 cases will be discharged from the hospital on July 6.
Relevant units are coordinating to inspect suspected cases.
According to the leader of Cam Ranh Ward People's Committee, on the afternoon of July 4, a local working delegation came to Cam Ranh Regional General Hospital to visit and encourage patients being treated.

Immediately after the incident occurred, local authorities directed relevant units to take food samples at Quynh Nga chicken rice restaurant for testing and determining the cause.
At the same time, this facility was requested to temporarily suspend operations during the investigation period.
Mr. Q, owner of Quynh Nga chicken rice restaurant, confirmed that on July 2nd and 3rd, many customers had to be hospitalized after eating at the restaurant.
After the incident, functional agencies took food samples for testing and requested the restaurant to temporarily stop doing business.
Regarding information that a similar incident occurred at the restaurant in early 2026, Mr. Quynh confirmed that this incident occurred.
The restaurant owner said that the establishment has full invoices and documents on the origin of food and believes that it is possible that employees did not follow the correct procedures, leading to the incident.
