On the afternoon of August 31, Gia Lai Provincial Police temporarily detained driver Nguyen Canh Ha Long (born 1993, residing in An Khe ward).
During the investigation, the police agency determined that Long showed signs of violating regulations on road traffic participation. The driver may have driven the car without controlling speed when entering a slippery curve, leading to a tragic accident.
Therefore, the police agency temporarily detained the driver to serve the investigation, verification, and clarification of details related to the accident.
As Lao Dong Newspaper reported, at about 3:10 am on August 31, at Km10+600 of the western Pleiku bypass, belonging to Hoi Phu ward, a traffic accident occurred when a sleeper bus was traveling on an unlicensed road.
The car overturned, killing 1 person on the spot and injuring 6 people.

At the above time, a sleeper bus with license plate 50E-449.17 was traveling in the direction from Ham Rong to Dak Doa commune.
When reaching Km10+600, the passenger car overturned on the right side of the road in the direction of traffic. There were 31 passengers, 2 drivers and 1 assistant driver on board.
The case is being further verified and investigated by Gia Lai Provincial Police to clarify the cause and related contents for handling according to the provisions of law.
