On May 15, the authorities of Gia Lai province are overcoming the damage caused by the storm in the area, estimated to have caused a loss of more than 350 million VND.
Accordingly, at around 4:30 p.m. on May 14, in Chu Pah district (Gia Lai province), there was a local thunderstorm lasting from 1 to 1.5 hours, affecting many communes and towns such as Hoa Phu, Ia Khuol, Nghia Hoa, Ia Nhin, Ia Ka, Ia Mo Nong and Phu Hoa town.
In Ia Ka commune, heavy rain with tornadoes and lightning broke 11 medium and high-voltage power poles along Provincial Road 661 (section through Mrong Yo 2 village).
In addition, three houses in Mrong Yo 1 village had their roofs blown off and were severely damaged. Fortunately, there were no human casualties.
Immediately after the natural disaster occurred, local authorities coordinated with relevant agencies to quickly arrive at the scene to fix the problem, count the damage and support people to stabilize their lives.
The total initial damage is estimated at more than 350 million VND. The power unit has mobilized existing forces and equipment to fix the problem, prioritizing the restoration of the medium voltage grid, ensuring power supply to the area.
The government also recommends that people closely monitor the weather situation and proactively take preventive measures to limit damage caused by extreme weather.
