On May 2nd, the Gia Lai Provincial Traffic and Civil Works Project Management Board (the investor) said that it is coordinating with units and localities to deploy the construction of service roads to serve the transportation of materials for the Project of Runway No. 2 and synchronous works at Phu Cat Airport bay area.
At the same time, urging and requesting contractors to accelerate the project progress, ensuring the completion of items in June 2026 and carrying out standard flights in July 2026.

According to the investor, the item of leveling the runway is one of the key items, deciding the progress of the entire project. However, the volume of soil serving construction is very large, the transportation distance is long, and many roads are frequently damaged. People along Provincial Road 638 through Hoa Hoi and Binh Hiep communes often obstruct soil trucks, affecting the construction progress.
Faced with this reality, the investor is deploying the construction of a service road to serve vehicles transporting soil into the airport, reducing pressure on Provincial Road 638 which is overloaded after a long period of suffering from a large volume of dump trucks carrying materials.
The service road is constructed on the site of the western Phu Cat district (old) route, and site clearance has been completed.

According to the design, the route is nearly 5km long, starting from the Tran Hung Dao road intersection (Hoi Van village, Hoa Hoi commune), ending at the Tan Le village resettlement area (Phu Cat commune).
Mr. Vo Van Chin - Head of Project 1 Department, Gia Lai Provincial Traffic and Civil Works Project Management Board - said that the unit is focusing on construction to soon complete the service road. However, the implementation process is facing difficulties because some people living along DH21 route (Tung Chanh village, Hoa Hoi commune) obstruct soil transportation activities.
According to Mr. Chin, when the service road is completed, it will contribute to reducing traffic load and ensuring traffic safety on Provincial Road 638, as well as the project progress. The investor requested Hoa Hoi Commune People's Committee to coordinate in propaganda and mobilize people to agree during the implementation process.
The Gia Lai Provincial Traffic and Civil Works Project Management Board is committed to repairing damages arising on the DH21 route due to soil transportation activities, ensuring traffic safety and environmental sanitation throughout the construction period.
