On August 16, the People's Committee of Gia Lai province said that it had reported to the Ministry of Finance to consider and support 1,609 billion VND to ensure the implementation of spending tasks when operating the 2-level local government model.
According to the People's Committee of Gia Lai province, on June 25, the Central Government supported the old Binh Dinh province with VND48.5 billion to reorganize commune-level administrative units; supported the old Gia Lai province with VND170.5 billion to reorganize provincial and commune-level administrative units. The total support budget for the two provinces is 219 billion VND.
However, when the new government model came into operation, the province has incurred many expenses such as: supporting cadres, civil servants, public employees, and workers (CBCCVCNLD) affected by the arrangement; investing in facilities and working equipment for the commune level; buying cars for work...
The province has spent 249 billion VND to support employees; 263.3 billion VND for communes and wards to purchase equipment, repair, upgrade and build new headquarters; 129.3 billion VND for planning work in 2025.
In 2025, the province spent 18.75 billion VND to buy cars for 17 communes and wards that have not yet been arranged for vehicles for work. In 2026, the province plans to buy 134 vehicles for communes and wards (except for Nhon Chau island commune, which has no demand), with a total cost of 214.4 billion VND. The total funding requirement for purchasing cars for communes and wards is 233.15 billion VND, to ensure the quota of 2 cars/commune, ward according to regulations.
To date, the total funding requirement for operating the two-level government model of Gia Lai is 875 billion VND, of which the Central Government has supported 219 billion VND. Due to the lack of self-balancing the budget and limited revenue, the province recommended that the Ministry of Finance support the locality with 650 billion VND to promptly carry out the above tasks.
As of July 30, the People's Committee of Gia Lai province has approved 552 billion VND to implement the policy of early retirement and immediate leave for 477 people. It is expected that in 2025, the whole province will have 1,969 people on leave, with a total cost of VND 2,354 billion, of which the central budget will support VND 959 billion.
To have funding to implement the policy, the People's Committee of Gia Lai province has reported to the Ministry of Finance to consider and supplement 959 billion VND in funding for the locality in 2025.
