In the early morning of August 23, the Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue Police Department (PCCC&CNCH) of Hung Yen Provincial Police promptly extinguished a house fire at 107 Hoang Thi Loan, Pho Hien Ward, and rescued 7 people trapped inside.
At 4:09 a.m., the unit received a fire report at Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nghi's house. Immediately, the Central Fire Fighting and Rescue Team dispatched 2 fire trucks and 16 officers and soldiers to the scene under the command of Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Viet Tan, Deputy Head of the Department.
At 4:14 a.m., the police discovered a 3-storey house on fire with many people inside. The commander quickly deployed a reconnaissance formation, using an approach ladder from the corrugated iron roof of the house next door, and breaking the first floor door to rescue people. Through inspection, there were 7 people in the house, including Mr. Nghi and his wife, children and 3 grandchildren. The Fire Police force promptly brought everyone out safely.
During the rescue, Mr. Nghi suffered minor burns to his shoulder and leg from stepping on a glass, and was given first aid and taken to Hung Yen General Hospital for treatment. By 4:22, the fire was completely extinguished, preventing the fire from spreading.
