Nghia Hanh Commune People's Committee has just coordinated with Nghia Hanh Commune Police and Forest Protection Department of Area 9 to receive 2 forest animal individuals of endangered, precious, and rare species discovered by people in the area and voluntarily handed over.
The two animals received include 1 blue peacock individual (scientific name Pavo muticus), belonging to group IB, weighing about 5.7 kg and 1 white pheasant individual (scientific name Lophura nycthemera), belonging to group IIB, weighing about 2.1 kg. Both are still alive, in normal health.

According to the petition of Mr. Vo Nhat Anh, residing in Phu Vinh Trung village, at about 9:30 pm on July 7, while at home, he heard dog barking outside the garden, so he used a flashlight to check and discovered a green peacock caught in a B40 net fence. He rescued it, safely arrested it and reported it to the local authorities.
According to the petition of Mr. Nguyen Huu Van, residing in An Phu village, at about 5 am on July 6, while walking in his garden, he discovered an individual with white fur and a long tail stuck in a bush. He took it into the house and discovered that the individual's leg was injured. After taking care of the wound, he searched online and learned that this was a white pheasant belonging to the group of precious and rare forest animals, so he voluntarily handed it over to the Commune People's Committee.
Immediately after receiving it, Nghia Hanh Commune People's Committee issued a public notice to find the owner or legal manager according to regulations.
Because the locality does not have sufficient facilities and expertise to care for and raise precious and rare wild animals, Nghia Hanh Commune People's Committee has issued a document requesting the Management Board of Chu Mom Ray National Park to receive these 2 individuals to organize rescue, care, conservation and handling in accordance with the law.
