Informing Lao Dong Newspaper, the leader of the Lang Son Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board said that the Lang Son Provincial Sports Complex is being deployed in Dong Kinh ward, with a total land use area of about 29ha.
The project aims to build a modern sports complex, meeting the long-term development needs of the province, while creating architectural highlights, contributing to the implementation of the goal of building Lang Son into a central urban area in the Northeast region.
According to the plan, the project includes 11 main works. In the current phase, the project is implementing 7 works with an area of about 11.7ha. The remaining four works, including the central stadium, expert housing, square and parking lot, occupy an area of about 17.3ha.

The project uses local budget capital combined with the central budget, implementation time from 2021 to 2027.
During the implementation process, the project was divided into 16 bidding packages. Up to now, 11 bidding packages have been selected, including important packages such as pile planting for site clearance, bomb and mine clearance, survey - design - construction, construction and installation of multi-purpose gymnasium equipment.
The project officially started construction on August 19, 2025, associated with the simultaneous commencement and inauguration of key projects nationwide, celebrating the 80th National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

Regarding site clearance, the Lang Son Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board said that the total land area to be recovered for project implementation is more than 287,000 m2, affecting 201 households and 3 organizations.
To date, functional agencies have issued 192 land recovery notices; 156 households have declared and prepared compensation dossiers with a counted area of about 19.7ha. Along with that, 93 graves within the project area have been counted.
However, in an exchange with reporters, Mr. Cao Cam Hung - Deputy Head of Project Management Department 2, Lang Son Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board - said that the biggest difficulty currently for the project is still site clearance work.
According to Mr. Hung, up to this point, the contractor has only been handed over about 1.9ha out of a total of 28.7ha that need site clearance, reaching 6.75% of the area for construction.
Currently, there are still 14 land plots that have not been verified by the land users, and at the same time, it is necessary to move about 100 graves out of the project implementation area.
Besides, many households also have opinions related to compensation and support unit prices, resettlement arrangement; have not agreed with the temporary compensation plan to receive advance money for site handover. Some households have not complied with measurement and inventory according to regulations," Mr. Hung said.

According to the Deputy Head of Project Management Department 2, the process of mobilizing and persuading people can only be implemented effectively after the Provincial People's Committee issues the land price list for 2026, as a basis for completing the compensation and support plan.
Due to site clearance problems, currently the contractor can only excavate organic soil at the handed-over locations, with an area of about 1.97ha, and there is no additional site clearance to expand construction.
Disbursement reached over 91% of the 2025 capital plan
Regarding the capital plan, accumulated capital allocated to the project to date has reached over 230 billion VND; in 2025 alone, it was 230 billion VND. As of the time of reporting, the project has disbursed 209 billion VND, reaching more than 91% of the assigned capital plan.
The Lang Son Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board said that in the coming time, the unit will continue to closely coordinate with departments, branches, and localities to focus on removing difficulties and obstacles in site clearance work right from the beginning of 2026, creating conditions to accelerate construction progress, ensuring the project is implemented in accordance with the set goals and roadmap.
