Tay Ninh - On the last day of the National Day holiday September 2nd, tens of thousands of people from the Mekong Delta returned to Ho Chi Minh City, causing many routes on National Highway 1 and highways to be crowded and slightly congested.

In the afternoon of September 2nd, the flow of vehicles from the Mekong Delta provinces returning to Ho Chi Minh City gradually increased, causing some roads to experience slight congestion. However, traffic in general is still stable, with some localized congestion points.

On National Highway 1 in the direction from the Mekong Delta to Ho Chi Minh City, vehicles passing National Highway 60, Rach Mieu 1 bridge in Vinh Long province and then along National Highway 1 to Dong Thap province are gradually increasing. A section of road is delayed due to increased traffic volume, but serious traffic congestion has not occurred.

Mr. Le Thanh Nam (36 years old, from former Soc Trang) said that the journey from Ben Tre to Ho Chi Minh City was initially quite convenient. When arriving in Tay Ninh province, the traffic was crowded and there were congestion, but it was insignificant, and vehicles could still move.

Recorded at 4 pm on the same day at the intersection between National Highway 1 and National Highway 62, the number of vehicles from the Mekong Delta heading to Ho Chi Minh City continued to increase, at times with slight congestion.

To limit congestion, traffic police forces of Dong Thap and Tay Ninh provinces are regularly on duty at intersections at risk of congestion on National Highway 1, National Highway N2 and National Highway 62 to regulate traffic.

Meanwhile, on the Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong - My Thuan expressway, Traffic Police Team 7 under Department 6 (Traffic Police Department) organized regulation, temporarily opening emergency stopping lanes in some areas to create more space for vehicles to circulate, contributing to reducing congestion.

Traffic diversion and vehicle guidance have been implemented since the afternoon of September 1st and will continue to be implemented on September 2nd, in the context of the increasing number of vehicles on the Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong expressway.

The scope of regulation organization extends from Km49+800, the area of the old Than Cuu Nghia toll station, to Km10+000, the area of Cho Dem toll station on the Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong expressway.

According to people who regularly travel between the Mekong Delta and Ho Chi Minh City on holidays and Tet, traffic jams often occur when people simultaneously return to the city. Therefore, many people proactively choose the appropriate time and route to avoid local congestion.
