On May 25, a working delegation of the Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee led by Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Ho Thanh Thuy visited and encouraged households affected by tornadoes in Lang Tron, Gia Rai wards and Vinh Phuoc commune.
At the places they came to, the working delegation directly provided initial support to 3 households whose houses were completely collapsed, 80 million VND per household; and visited more households whose roofs were blown off or houses were damaged after the natural disaster.
Deputy Secretary of the Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee Ho Thanh Thuy shared difficulties with the people, encouraged households to soon overcome the damage and stabilize their lives. At the same time, he requested local authorities to urgently mobilize forces to support people to clean up and repair houses, and fully review the extent of damage to promptly implement support policies according to regulations.

Mr. Nguyen Van Su, residing in hamlet 20, Lang Tron ward, said that his family's house completely collapsed after the storm. Many assets in the house were damaged, causing the family to fall into difficulty. "Being visited and supported in time by provincial and local leaders, my family feels warm and has more motivation to overcome this difficult period," Mr. Su shared.
According to Mr. Ngo Quoc Tuan - Chairman of Lang Tron Ward People's Committee, immediately after the natural disaster occurred, the locality coordinated with forces to support people in cleaning up and overcoming the consequences. Up to now, the lives of many households have basically stabilized, and the locality is continuing to statistically assess damage to soon deploy housing repair support.
In Gia Rai ward - one of the localities heavily damaged by thunderstorms, the government has mobilized police, military, and militia forces to coordinate with hamlets to support people in moving property, clearing fallen green trees and overcoming incidents that cause traffic obstruction.

Mr. Le Minh Hai - Secretary of Gia Rai ward - said that by May 25, many roads with fallen green trees had been handled, and traffic was normal. The locality is urgently collecting damage statistics to have effective and timely support plans for people.
According to the Office of the Ca Mau Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control, the thunderstorm on the afternoon of May 24 caused damage to 96 houses, including 7 completely collapsed and 89 roofs blown off. In addition, some power poles and green trees in Gia Rai, Lang Tron wards and Vinh Phuoc, An Trach, Phuoc Long communes were also damaged.
On the same day, the Chairman of Ca Mau Provincial People's Committee also issued an urgent directive requesting affected localities to quickly review and fully statistics the damage; prioritize supporting households with completely collapsed houses, poor households, near-poor households, policy families and people in difficult circumstances.
The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested localities to proactively mobilize local forces to support people in repairing houses, ensuring that households are not heavily damaged and lack temporary accommodation, food and essential necessities. At the same time, strengthen warnings and inspections of areas at risk of unsafety after thunderstorms to limit damage from arising.
According to statistics, from the beginning of 2026 to now, natural disasters in Ca Mau province have caused estimated damage of more than 20.2 billion VND.
