2 Quang Vinh 1 and Quang Vinh 2 bridge projects in the center of Thai Nguyen province have a total investment of more than 1,500 billion VND, started in early 2025.
According to the design, Quang Vinh 1 bridge has a total length of more than 3.4km, starting point Km0+0.00 at the intersection of Duong Tu Minh road. End point at Km138+118, intersecting with National Highway 17.
The bridge is designed with box girders and prestressed reinforced concrete, combined with steel arches.
Meanwhile, Quang Vinh 2 bridge connecting Quan Trieu ward with Linh Son ward has a total length of about 1.43 km. The sections of the route have different widths, from 27m to 40.5m.
PV's records at the end of May 2026, at the Quang Vinh 1 bridge construction site, dozens of workers and machinery and equipment are being mobilized to deploy construction. Many items of Quang Vinh 1 bridge have gradually taken shape.
The contractor is focusing on constructing foundations, welding steel structures, completing bridge frames and handling technical items according to plan.
And at the Quang Vinh 2 bridge construction site, units are deploying drilling, filling, making foundations, and pressing piles. Many construction teams are organized continuously to ensure the set plan.
According to Mr. Duong Quoc Khanh - Deputy General Director of Investment and Construction Joint Stock Company No. 18, the contractor is mobilizing maximum manpower and equipment, organizing many construction teams to compensate for progress.
However, the biggest difficulty currently is that the ground is not continuous, while early rain and floods directly affect the construction items under the river.
The construction package for the connecting road section 1 also faced many difficulties due to small handover sites and lack of access roads for transporting materials. The realized value only reached about 2.8% of the plan.
According to the investor's assessment, the overall progress of the project is about 10% behind schedule.
According to the Project Management Board for Investment and Construction of Transport and Agricultural Works of Thai Nguyen province, the project has a total recovered area of more than 17.6ha, affecting 491 households and 11 organizations in Quan Trieu and Linh Son wards; of which nearly 200 households must be resettled.
Up to now, site clearance work in Linh Son ward has completed the inventory of almost all affected households. Approving compensation plans for 226 households with a total cost of more than 84.6 billion VND.
However, there are still 31 households that have not been allocated resettlement land.
Meanwhile, in Quan Trieu ward, the progress of site clearance is still slow. The locality has only completed statistics for more than half of the households subject to land acquisition and arranged resettlement for 10/131 households.
Currently, at Quang Vinh 1 bridge, the contractor has cast 32/34 girder slabs. The value of the implemented volume reached more than 192 billion VND, equivalent to over 60% of the contract value.
At Quang Vinh 2 bridge, pile foundation, pile body, approach road and steel structure items are being deployed simultaneously, with a implementation value of nearly 170 billion VND.
The Provincial Traffic and Agricultural Construction Investment Project Management Board is coordinating with localities to focus on removing each difficulty, especially in resettlement and site clearance work.
