From September 15th, cars, motorbikes and other vehicles are allowed to circulate together in the dedicated lane for BRT rapid buses on the Lang Ha - Giang Vo axis, to serve the construction of the overpass under the Ring Road 1 project, Hoang Cau - Voi Phuc section (phase 2).
According to the traffic organization adjustment plan just issued by the Hanoi Department of Construction, vehicles are allowed to use the same BRT lane on the Lang Ha - Giang Vo axis in both directions.
Specifically, in the direction from Lang Ha to Giang Vo, vehicles are allowed to circulate in the BRT lane from before number 8 Lang Ha to the intersection with Tran Huy Lieu street.
In the opposite direction, from Giang Vo to Lang Ha, vehicles are allowed to use the BRT lane from the Tran Huy Lieu intersection to before number 8 Lang Ha.
Temporarily allowing vehicles to use the same BRT lane is to increase the road surface area for traffic, reduce congestion pressure during the time this area is narrowed to serve project construction.
Along with adjusting lanes, the Department of Construction also tightened some turnaround points to limit conflicts between vehicle flows in the construction area.
For vehicles traveling from Ring Road 1 to Hao Nam - Hoang Cau, cars are prohibited from turning around at the median strip opening point in front of No. 2 Lang Ha.
On Giang Vo street, trucks and passenger cars are also prohibited from turning around at the opening point in front of number 227 Giang Vo to go towards Ring Road 1 or Lang Ha.
Vehicles that are prohibited from turning around must continue straight to the next median opening point and change direction according to the traffic sign system. Other traffic directions continue to be implemented according to the announced traffic organization plan.
The adjustment plan starts to be applied from September 15 and will be maintained until further notice.
To limit congestion and ensure traffic safety, the Hanoi Department of Construction requests the City Civil Works Construction Investment Project Management Board to coordinate with the Traffic Police force to arrange personnel to guide and regulate traffic at the scene.
Units are required to regularly monitor vehicle traffic flow and promptly handle inadequacies arising during traffic organization.
During the construction of the overpass, the investor and contractors must ensure environmental sanitation, maintain the system of signs, night warning lights and dust control at the construction site.
Machinery, construction vehicles and construction materials must be neatly gathered within the construction site fence. Construction vehicles are only allowed to enter and exit the fence area from 10 pm the previous day to 5 am the next day. Movement outside this time frame must be licensed according to regulations.
The Traffic Police Department of Hanoi City Police coordinates with the People's Committees of Giang Vo and Lang wards to strengthen patrols, inspections, and handle cases of encroachment on roads and sidewalks for business, illegal parking, causing traffic obstruction in the intersection area.
