Construction units are accelerating the installation of underground culverts and restoring the road surface on many central streets to soon stabilize traffic and ensure urban aesthetics.
According to the Hanoi City Technical Infrastructure Management Center, construction work at 16 locations on Ly Thai To, Phan Chu Trinh, Ly Thuong Kiet, Trang Tien, Quang Trung, Quan Su and Nguyen Trai streets has basically completed the asphalt concrete layer.

In Quang Trung street alone, the contractor has completed the installation of 7 manholes. To ensure safety for people and vehicles traveling, manholes are covered with thick steel sheets or arranged with hard barriers.
Mr. Vo Phuong Nam - Deputy Head of Technology and System Management Department, Hanoi City Technical Infrastructure Management Center - said that units are striving to complete the first layer of asphalt concrete on all construction streets.

For the sections that have been paved with rough asphalt, the contractor will continue to construct the fine-grained asphalt concrete layer, striving to complete it before June 15, 2026.
In parallel with undergrounding the sewer system, the city is also promoting the renovation of drainage infrastructure to improve flood prevention capacity. To date, Hanoi has completed the upgrade of pumping stations at 6 lakes including Thien Quang, Bay Mau, Ba Mau, Linh Quang, Van Chuong and Trung Tu.

Two underground flood control tanks in the Hang Da market and Duong bridge areas have also been put into operation, contributing to improving the efficiency of urban drainage.
Records on June 6th at Ly Thuong Kiet street show that the road surface has been restored to a relatively flat state, and the dust and ruggedness during construction have been basically overcome.

However, in the Quang Trung street area intersecting with Nguyen Du street and Tho Nhuom - Quang Trung intersection, units are still deploying the installation of underground culverts. Representatives of the construction unit said that if the weather is favorable, the project will be completed next week and the road surface will be restored to serve people's travel.
Accelerating the progress of road surface restoration not only contributes to reducing traffic pressure in the central area but also improves the quality of technical infrastructure and improves the urban appearance of the Capital.
