Hanoi Department of Construction has just issued Plan No. 169/KH-SXD to ensure the safe and smooth operation of the transportation and urban technical infrastructure system; and at the same time, embellish the landscape, environmental sanitation, and create a clean and beautiful urban appearance during the activities commemorating the August Revolution and National Day September 2.
According to the plan, the Traffic Infrastructure Maintenance Board directs maintenance and repair units to review all roads under their management.
The locations of road surfaces and sidewalks that are peeling, cracked, subsided, and sagging will be repaired and overcome. Units will also inspect and clean the system of traffic lights, signs, paint markings, medians, traffic islands and traffic safety assurance items.
For faded signs and paint lines, units are required to supplement reflective materials to increase recognition and ensure safety for traffic participants.
Hanoi is also strengthening the handling of unlicensed banners and advertisements that affect the vision and urban aesthetics. Green trees that obscure traffic signs and traffic lights will be coordinated to prune.
The Hanoi City Technical Infrastructure Management Center directs maintenance units to strengthen pruning of green trees, lift canopies, and raise foliage arches on roads.
Key areas such as Ba Dinh Political Center, Hanoi city center area, parks, flower gardens, and squares are focused on supplementing and replacing dead green trees. Garbage and waste at tree roots and planting holes are also collected.
The urban lighting system is inspected, cleaned, and replaced with damaged light bulbs. Units are also focusing on dredging ditches, sewers, manholes; repairing damaged manholes on the road surface, ensuring drainage, and limiting the risk of flooding.
For public passenger transport, the Hanoi City Traffic Management and Operation Center requests service providers to strengthen sanitation, renovate vehicles, and improve the quality of passenger service.
Stations, transfer points, waiting rooms and bus stops are organized for cleaning and renovation, especially in crowded areas, cultural - political areas and historical sites.
Director of Hanoi Department of Construction Vo Nguyen Phong requested departments, boards and related units to closely coordinate in the implementation process, ensuring that tasks are not overlapping and completed on schedule.
Units must implement information and reporting regimes before 10 am every Monday for the Department of Construction to summarize and report to the Hanoi People's Committee.
The embellishment campaign is being implemented in the context of Hanoi Capital preparing to enter the National Day holiday from August 29 to the end of September 2.
The simultaneous renovation of infrastructure, environmental sanitation and landscape is expected to contribute to ensuring traffic safety, convenient travel, and creating a clean and beautiful urban environment for people and tourists during the National Day.
