Hanoi City People's Committee has just submitted to Hanoi City People's Council a draft resolution on naming and adjusting the length of some roads, streets and public works in the area in 2026.
According to the submission, Hanoi City is expected to name 51 roads and streets in 31 wards and communes; adjust the length of 5 roads and streets and name a public project.
Among the 51 streets and roads proposed for naming, 39 streets bear the names of place names and other names, and 12 streets bear the names of celebrities.
12 streets and roads named after celebrities include:
Nguyen Huu An Street (Cau Giay ward); Ly Trien Street (Chuong My ward); Vu Nam Long Street (Duong Noi ward); Vu Tuyen Hoang Street (Hoang Liet ward); Vu Lap Street (Long Bien ward); Nguyen Long Street (Tay Ho ward); Do Cao Mai Street (Xuan Dinh ward); Bui Huy Dap Street (Yen So ward); Quang Dung Street (Dan Phuong commune); Le San Street (Nam Phu commune); Nguyen Dinh Huan Street (Phu Dong commune); Tran Minh Hien Street (Tien Thang commune); 39 roads and streets named after place names.
The remaining 39 routes are named after landmarks, craft villages, historical and cultural relics, including:
Dai Yen, Ngoc Hoa, Ninh Son, Tram Gian Pagoda, Phung Chau, Long Chau, Yen Khe (Chuong My ward); Co Mai (Hoang Mai ward); Phu Cuong (Phu Luong ward); Vo Thuong (Phuc Loi ward); Mia Pagoda, Duong Lam, Cam Lam (Son Tay ward); Duong Hoa (Duong Hoa commune); Hat Mon (Hat Mon commune); Hop Tien, Xuy Xa (Hong Son commune); Van Kim, Doc Tin (Huong Son commune); Nghia Huong, Liep Tuyet (Kieu Phu commune); Lien Minh (Lien Minh commune); Nam Phu Liet, Dong Trach (Nam Phu commune); Lien Hong, Temple Van Hien (O Dien commune); Hoa Thach, Dong Yen, Phu Cat, Phu Man (Phu Cat commune); Ha Duong (Phu Dong commune); Thao Chinh, Van Diem (Phu Xuyen commune); Thuong Lam, Tuy Lai, Bot Xuyen (Phuc Son commune); Lai Yen (Son Dong commune); Co Dien Nam (Thanh Tri commune);
Adjusting the length of 5 roads and streets:
Hanoi City People's Committee also proposed adjusting and extending 5 roads and streets including: Tram Pagoda Street (Chuong My ward); Chuc Son Street (Chuong My ward); Dang Thuy Tram Street (Nghia Do ward); Kieu Mai Street (Xuan Phuong ward); Ta Thanh Oai Street (Dai Thanh commune).
New name for An Hoa Park:
In addition to naming streets and roads, Hanoi City also proposed naming An Hoa Park for the park area that has been planned and built in Cau Giay ward.
The park is located next to many agencies and large projects of the Capital, with the North bordering the headquarters of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment and the Ministry of Home Affairs; the South bordering Hoang Quan Chi street; the East bordering the street expected to be named Nguyen Huu An; the West bordering Hanoi Children's Palace and Pham Hung street.
According to the Hanoi People's Committee, naming and adjusting the length of roads and streets is aimed at completing the urban infrastructure system, contributing to facilitating administrative management, traffic and meeting the living needs of people.
