From May 30, the La Thanh - Nguyen Chi Thanh intersection will temporarily stop traffic lights, switching to the self-propelled traffic organization plan to serve the construction of metro line No. 5.
On the afternoon of May 28, the Hanoi Department of Construction announced the adjustment of traffic organization at the La Thanh - Nguyen Chi Thanh intersection to serve the construction of the urban railway project line No. 5 (Van Cao - Ngoc Khanh - Lang - Hoa Lac).
According to the new plan, vehicles move along temporary roads, painted lines, signs and turnaround points arranged on the median strip. The adjustment serves the construction of items belonging to station S1 (Quan Ngua) and station S3 (Belt Road 1) of the project.
Notably, the traffic diversion plan will be barricaded and test-operated for 3 days before official implementation. During this time, functional forces will monitor the reality to promptly adjust if inadequacies arise.
The Department of Construction requests the Hanoi Urban Railway Project Management Board to coordinate with local authorities to strengthen propaganda and guide people to move safely through the construction area.
Along with that, measures to reduce dust and protect the environment at the construction site are also tightened. Contractors must install a misting system around the barrier area and maintain continuous operation during construction.
To limit congestion during peak hours, vehicles carrying materials and construction vehicles are only allowed to enter and exit the construction site from 10 pm to 5 am the next day.
Traffic Police and Traffic Inspectors will strengthen traffic diversion and handle cases of illegal parking, encroachment on roads and sidewalks around intersections.
Functional agencies recommend that people when traveling through the area pay attention to observation, comply with the sign system and instructions of the regulating force to ensure traffic safety.
