On the evening of December 31st, the music program "Countdown 2026 - Opening a Real Connection" and the fireworks display to celebrate the New Year 2026 took place in the Hoan Kiem Lake area. Both events attracted great attention from the people, so from the afternoon, hundreds of people flocked to the central area to wait for the moment to immerse themselves in the vibrant atmosphere, say goodbye to the old year and welcome the new year.
The large number of people flocking to Hoan Kiem Lake caused the demand for parking to increase sharply, and many parking spots around Hoan Kiem Lake quickly fell into a state of overload.
Recorded at 3:20 PM, a parking spot on Bao Khanh street announced that it was full, not accepting more vehicles.
At the same time, the parking lot near the Hanoi Children's Palace area also announced that it was out of space, causing many people to be discouraged and turn around to find other parking lots.

Mr. Nguyen Tat Dat (Thai Binh) said that because tonight there was the appearance of world-famous DJ Alan Walker - an artist he admires very much - he proactively came early to choose a beautiful location to watch the program. However, even though he went from early afternoon, finding a parking spot was still extremely difficult.
Today, I had to go to a third parking spot to find a place. The parking attendant accepted to park until 1 am at a price of 30,000 VND/vehicle. This level is higher than usual, but I find it still quite cheap compared to holidays and Tet. My friend who parks elsewhere is also quoted a price of 50,000 VND/vehicle," Mr. Dat shared.

By 7 pm, many parking spots on the streets around Hoan Kiem Lake continued to be fully booked.
Notably, some parking spots on Cau Go street have "increased in price" to 100,000 VND/vehicle when accepting parking until 1 am. With this price, many people have turned around and not parked.

According to Decision No. 44/2017/QD-UBND dated December 15, 2017 of the Hanoi People's Committee, the price of parking services for bicycles (electric bicycles), motorbikes (electric motorbikes) in districts, scenic spots, historical relics, cultural works, during the day is 3,000 VND/turn, at night is 5,000 VND/turn, both day and night is 7,000 VND/turn, and monthly is 70,000 VND.
The parking fee for cars under 9 seats and trucks from 2 tons or less per trip on roads and streets in districts located in Ring Road 1 and on Ring Road 1 (except Hoan Kiem district) is 25,000 VND/trip, maximum 60 minutes.
