After studying the proposals, the Hanoi Department of Construction agreed to let the Traffic Infrastructure Maintenance Board cut the median strip at the Nguyen Phong Sac - Xuan Thuy intersections, Hoang Quoc Viet - Nghia Tan intersection - Lane 106 Hoang Quoc Viet (Cau Giay District) to expand the intersection, helping to avoid conflicts and reduce traffic congestion.

According to the reporter, after many days of implementation, up to now, the Hanoi Traffic Works Maintenance Board has completed the work of cutting sidewalks and median strips.
Accordingly, at the Nguyen Phong Sac - Xuan Thuy intersection, the functional unit will cut the sidewalk to widen the right turn lane from Nguyen Phong Sac to Xuan Thuy Street, with a cut length of about 35m and an average width of 2m. Items such as curbs and asphalt have been completed.

At the Hoang Quoc Viet - Nghia Tan - Lane 106 Hoang Quoc Viet, the construction unit will cut the median strip to expand the left turn lane from Hoang Quoc Viet to Nghia Tan Street and Lane 106 Hoang Quoc Viet, about 30m long and nearly 4m wide. The cutting of the median strip aims to widen the intersection, increase traffic flow, and reduce traffic congestion.
According to the Hanoi Department of Construction, cutting sidewalks and median strips is a short-term but urgent solution to reduce traffic pressure at overloaded locations.

Previously, many intersections in Hanoi were also expanded. For example, at Nga Tu So, in 2023, the authorities cut the median strip under Nga Tu So bridge, opening more waiting lanes for vehicles to go straight to Lang road. At the same time, traffic at this intersection was also reorganized.
After completion, the congestion at the intersection has improved, and the speed of vehicles passing through the intersection has been improved. However, due to the constant increase in traffic density, up to now, the Truong Chinh - Nga Tu So - Lang road continues to show signs of overload.
