On January 16, Dong Anh commune (Hanoi) organized the groundbreaking ceremony of the investment project to build a road connecting Tu Lien bridge from the intersection of the Tu Lien bridge access road with Truong Sa road to the Hanoi - Thai Nguyen expressway.
This is a key transport infrastructure project, with a total investment of nearly 5,000 billion VND, using Hanoi city budget capital, expected to create a breakthrough in connecting and developing the urban area in the North of the Capital.
According to a representative of the Dong Anh Commune Infrastructure Investment Management Board, the project was assigned by the City People's Committee to Dong Anh commune as the investor, belonging to level I traffic works.
The project is about 5.66km long, with a cross-section of 60m. The starting point of the project is at the intersection of Tu Lien bridge with Truong Sa road, the ending point is at the intersection with the Hanoi - Thai Nguyen expressway.
On the route, 3 important intersections will be built, including: Intersection with old National Highway 3; intersection with LK53 road according to the plan and the existing Hanoi - Lao Cai railway line; intersection with Hanoi - Thai Nguyen expressway and Ring Road 3.
Along with that, the project invests in building a system of bridges on the main route such as Ring Road 3 overpass and planned railway; overpass at the National Highway 3 intersection across the Ngu Huyen Khe River; overpass across the Ngu Huyen Khe River.
Building a parallel bridge over the Ngu Huyen Khe River, expanding Loc Ha bridge and building 4 branch bridges at the intersection with the Hanoi - Thai Nguyen expressway and Ring Road 3 (branches Ramp 1, Ramp 3, Ramp 4 and Ramp 7).
After Hanoi City People's Committee issued Decision No. 4110/QD-UBND dated August 4, 2025, Dong Anh Commune People's Committee urgently deployed compensation, support, and site clearance work, and at the same time approved the contractor selection plan in accordance with the law.
To suit the actual conditions and ensure long-term exploitation efficiency, Dong Anh Commune People's Committee proposed adjusting some items to build the Ngu Huyen Khe river overpass, including adjusting the bridge width to 26.5m; adding parallel bridges on both sides of the route, synchronously connecting with the parallel road and routes: Duc Tu, Nghia Vu on both sides of the river. Each bridge consists of 2 spans, span diagram 2 x 33m, bridge width 2 x 16m, total bridge length 74.546m.
The project is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2027.
When put into operation, the road not only contributes to reducing the load on existing traffic axes, shortening the connection distance between Dong Anh and the city center of Hanoi and northern provinces, but also opens up new development space in urban areas, services, trade, and logistics.
